DESCRIPTION:Three passionate agencies partnering together to give back this holiday season! This event will be a coat giveaway open to the public for those in need to stay warm this season. Donations have been received from a variety of sources including local businesses. \nY.E.A.’s mission is to empower youth and families of color in communities that have been historically and generationally impacted by historical trauma\, systemic oppression\, substance use disorder\, and adverse childhood events by providing opportunity and a safe space for families to heal and advance to a healthy\, holistic\, and hopeful life.

DESCRIPTION:DIB Project Executive Director Tracy paid a visit to the RISE Program weekly check-in at Chabot Community College to give one of her famous inspirational talks about resilience and overcoming adversity. The RISE program was created to support current and prospective formerly incarcerated and systems-impacted students. Tracy is a great motivational speaker and has a deep passion for supporting individuals on their path for higher educational attainment. *Fun fact: Tracy is also a Chabot Community College graduate.

SUMMARY:DIB Project & FACES SF
DESCRIPTION:Beneath the Surface: A Mental Wellness Workshop was provided to the staff at the FACES SF Bayview-Hunters Point location. This workshop covers topics on mental health and self-care for providers\, educators\, and other professionals that work with youth. Participants have a safe space for self-reflection to identify how they show up in their lives and in their work\, along with tools they can use to manage their own triggers\, stress\, and secondary trauma. This workshop is designed to help individuals enhance their\nphysical and emotional well-being\, equipping them with the awareness and tools needed to sustain and strengthen their ability to support others.

DESCRIPTION:DIB Project partnered with Y.E.A. (Your Empowerment & Advancement) a local non-profit organization that provides educational support and opportunities to youth in the Stockton\, CA community. DIB Project attended a mental health-focused day for their annual camping trip to Camp Timberwolf in Northern California. DIB Project worked with a small group of youth to provide psychoeducation\, interactive activities\, and open discussion that helped to decrease stigma around mental health. Discussions focused on trauma and normalized mental health behaviors among teens. Youth were also provided with tools for healthy coping skills. \nY.E.A.’s mission is to empower youth and families of color in communities that have been historically and generationally impacted by historical trauma\, systemic oppression\, substance use disorder\, and adverse childhood events by providing opportunity and a safe space for families to heal and advance to a healthy\, holistic\, and hopeful life.
