DIB Project & Y.E.A.

DIB Project partnered with Y.E.A. (Your Empowerment & Advancement) a local non-profit organization that provides educational support and opportunities to youth in the Stockton, CA community. DIB Project attended a mental health-focused day for their annual camping trip to Camp Timberwolf in Northern California. DIB Project worked with a small group of youth to provide psychoeducation, interactive activities, and open discussion that helped to decrease stigma around mental health. Discussions focused on trauma and normalized mental health behaviors among teens. Youth were also provided with tools for healthy coping skills.

Y.E.A.’s mission is to empower youth and families of color in communities that have been historically and generationally impacted by historical trauma, systemic oppression, substance use disorder, and adverse childhood events by providing opportunity and a safe space for families to heal and advance to a healthy, holistic, and hopeful life.
